AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D has to be one of the most highly anticipated chips in history as we approach the end of 2024. Since the success of the 7800X3D, which frankly spoiled gamers across the globe, nothing has really come close from a price-to-performance standpoint. The general opinion of Ryzen 9000-series processors has been a bit hit and miss. The latest generation of chips aren’t bad, they just don’t offer much of an uplift from the 7000-series. The same appears to be said for Intel’s next-gen Core Ultra CPUs, which appear to fall short of the 9950X for gaming.
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D release date rumors
rumors surrounding a possible 2024 launch have been surfacing for weeks, along with various benchmark and specification leaks. It would make sense for AMD to launch X3D as soon as possible and according to a Chiphell thread, the 25th of October is now the expected release date. Of course, anything like this needs to be taken with a handful of salt but it is no secret that X3D is on the way, with AMD confirming during its 9000-series launch.
Use zhangzhonghao stated “The news came from an AMD agent, posted on Bilibili, the reply has been deleted. The sale is expected to be between November 1st and 5th.” This points to a possible review period before being available to buy, which sounds similar to other leakers claiming November 7th is the go-date.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D price expectations
The price is often expected to be pretty close from generation to generation, with price increases being offset by relative performance bumps. AMDs latest chip range broke this mold, launching for less than its predecessor – so could we see the same from X3D? Well, it could be the contrary too as older X3D chips continue to hold their value. As shown by @TechEpiphanyYT, Ryzen X3D prices are actually on the rise, hammering home the popularity and longevity of the best gaming chips money can buy.
The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is rumored to launch in October, however, there is nothing official from AMD yet.
As the CPU is not officially announced yet, there is no price information. That being said, we expect it to cost a similar amount to its predecessor.
